How to run it
With eight players everyone plays every round, so there are no sit-outs to juggle. The hard part is the partners: done by hand, somebody usually ends up with the same partner twice while another pair never teams up. CourtSheet builds the seven-round rotation for you, checks it, and lays it out as a court-by-round grid you can print on one page or keep on your phone.
- Type your eight names, one per line (or keep the sample names and swap them in later).
- Keep 2 courts and 7 rounds. The preview under the court board confirms "no repeat partners".
- Press "Make my schedule", then print the grid for the fence or the clipboard, or print one card per player.
- Type each game's score as you go. Standings rank players by wins, then point difference.
Tips
- Short on time? Play 4 or 5 rounds: the rotation still avoids repeat partners, everyone just meets fewer people.
- Games to 11 (win by 2) take about 12 to 15 minutes, so 7 rounds fit a two-hour court booking.
- If a ninth player turns up, add their name and press Shuffle: CourtSheet adds one sit-out per round and keeps the sit-outs even.
- Opponents repeat more than partners with 8 players; that cannot be avoided, but CourtSheet spreads them as evenly as it can.
