How to run it
Social tennis rarely has a tidy number of players. CourtSheet takes whatever turns up, fills every court it can, and rotates the sit-outs so nobody sits twice before everyone has sat once. Partners rotate every round and opponents are spread out. The printed sheet uses big type and leaves score boxes under each match, so the captain can collect results on paper and type them in later. The same tool runs badminton, padel and table tennis doubles.
- Enter the players. Odd numbers are fine.
- Set your courts and rounds. With 9 players on 2 courts, 9 rounds gives everyone exactly one sit-out.
- Set "Games to" to 6 for short sets, or to whatever your club plays; it prints on the sheet.
- Print the grid for the clubhouse board, or the player cards for the bench.
Tips
- Short sets to 6 games take around 25 to 35 minutes, so plan rounds around your court time.
- For timed rounds, write "Games to" as 0 and record games won when the whistle goes.
- A sit-out round is a good time for the sitting player to keep score on the other court.
